Landslide Leaves Fifteen People Dead in North India

(MENAFN) At least 15 people lost their lives and several others were wounded on Tuesday in Himachal Pradesh’s northern hills after a landslide struck a moving bus, causing it to tumble into a deep gorge, local police confirmed.

The tragic incident took place in Bilaspur district, where among the deceased were women and children.

Rescue operations swiftly mobilized, with teams reaching the site to assist survivors, according to recent media updates.

The state’s Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri informed reporters that 15 individuals died in the private bus accident in Bilaspur. He added that 18 people were rescued, with three being hospitalized, and noted that approximately 30 passengers were believed to be on the bus.

Authorities are continuing investigations, and further information is expected.
